A Heartfelt plea for Bella
As an animal rescuer in Mexico, I’ve witnessed the darkest side of human cruelty – dogs abandoned in landfills, left to starve on the streets, and subjected to unspeakable abuse. These experiences have left an indelible mark on my soul, fueling my unwavering commitment to saving these innocent creatures.
Among the countless dogs I’ve encountered, Bella’s story has etched itself deeply into my heart. This gentle, three-year-old Doberman, with her soulful eyes and unwavering spirit, is battling a devastating battle against TVT, a relentless form of cancer.

I first met Bella and her owner, Jose Luis, a Mexican Transit Police Officer, at our recent Spaying For Change Event in San Jose Del Cabo. Jose Luis, a man of unwavering integrity and dedication to his community, was visibly distraught by Bella’s condition. His inability to afford the life-saving chemotherapy for his beloved companion brought tears to his eyes.
How could I turn a blind eye to their plight? I immediately introduced Jose Luis to our remarkable veterinarian, Dr. Sol, and together, we pledged to sponsor Bella’s treatment.
Bella’s case of TVT is one of the most severe I’ve ever seen. Yet, Dr. Sol remains optimistic, assuring me that she has successfully treated far worse cases. With the right care, Bella has a fighting chance.
We began her chemotherapy yesterday, but her battle is far from over. Bella also suffers from Ehrlichmaniosis, a bacterial infection contracted from her time on the unforgiving streets. This condition cannot be addressed until the cancer is under control. And to make matters worse, Bella has not yet been spayed.
Your generous support can make a world of difference in Bella’s life. A donation of $50, $100, or even $250 could bring her closer to recovery. Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring her one step closer to a brighter future.
Please consider opening your heart and extending a helping hand to this precious soul. Bella deserves to experience the joy of a loving home, free from pain and suffering.
Your compassion and kindness will not only save Bella’s life but will also serve as a beacon of hope for countless other animals in need.
With heartfelt gratitude,
